In 2021, Christopher Schoelen released his second solo classical guitar album. Neo: Modernism & The Guitar is a collection of pieces from composers who composed for the classical guitar during the Modernist period. This album will be a way to hear the sounds of the time period that were influencing artists like Picasso, Gris, and Braque.

It includes pieces by iconic composers such as Joaquín Rodrigo, Darius Milhaud, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and more. These composers all wrote pieces during time of Modernism for the guitar. Many of these pieces were composed for the particular up-and-coming young classical guitar pioneer, Andrés Segovia.
